Infinite Control Switch
Manually Controlled Temperature Regulator
Many Evenheat kiln designs are available with Infinite Switch control. This switch works much the same as a stove switch in that it allows the user to set the heat from a low position to a high position and everywhere in between. Hence the name "Infinite". This switch should not be confused with the "Low-Medium-High" switch which only offers three heat settings.
|How does the Infinite
The Infinite switch uses what is called a Bi-metal switch to control the switch action. The Bi-metal switch physically moves through the process of heating and cooling. This movement causes the main switch contacts to open and close, thereby, controlling the power applied to the heating elements. Rotating of the infinite switch changes the relationship of the "on" and "off" times or duty cycle. As the switch is rotated to a higher heat setting the main contacts remain closed for a longer period of time. Conversely, rotating the switch to a lower heat setting causes the main contacts to remain closed for a shorter period of time.
When the switch is rotated to the Max or High position it is "locked on" and does not cycle.
It should be noted that the
Infinite switch also contains an Off
Does the Infinite Switch Shut the Firing Off at the End of the Firing?
No. The Infinite Switch is a manually controlled switch. It stays where you set it.
